  2.                                 Bedbugs

  4.          Dissolve alum in hot water and go over everything where
  5.          the bugs hide. This is safe and effective.

  7.                                 Care of Aluminum

  9.          Place tarnished pieces in large pan and cover with sour
  10.          milk. Allow to remain overnight. This will make the ware
  11.          as bright as new.

  13.                                 Cleaning Brass

  15.          Wash with salt and buttermilk or vinegar and salt. This
  16.          same treatment is also used for cleaning copper.

  18.                                 Fleas

  20.          When fleas get in the house a very simple method of
  21.          getting rid of them is to put on rubber boots and wrap
  22.          them with fly paper. Then walk through the house and you
  23.          will get them all. Fleas jump at any moving object, and
  24.          since they can not leap higher than six inches they will
  25.          be caught on the fly paper.

  29.          Dip a lintless cloth in wood alcohol, go over the glass
  30.          and follow with a piece of old silk cloth. This is fine
  31.          for cold weather.

  33.                                 Squeaky Shoes

  35.          Take the shoes to your cobbler and ask him to make an
  36.          opening in the soles between the layers of leather and
  37.          insert some powder. He will understand how to do this.
  38.          Sometimes a few tacks in the center of the sole will
  39.          stop the "sqweak".
